Vision Tech: The Latest Advancements Around Liquid Lenses
21 January 2026 • 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM PST | West Expo Stage 1 (Moscone West, Exhibit Level)
The presentation explores recent advancements in liquid lens technology, focusing on solutions that deliver optimized size, increased resolution, even faster settling times, improved temperature compensation, and lower costs. We introduce electrical lens modules (ELMs) as a key enabler for enhanced performance and simplified use, highlighting how embedded controllers further reduce cost while facilitating seamless integration into cameras. Standardization through GenICam, coupled with successful adoption of ELMs by leading camera manufacturers, has accelerated broader deployment across diverse camera models. This development benefits end-users by streamlining integration and reducing overall system costs. Application examples will demonstrate the versatility of liquid lenses in real-world use cases, while the presentation will also address remaining challenges to guide future innovation.
