Experimental demonstration and theoretical analysis of electrically-driven photonic crystal nanobeam lasers

13 April 2026 • 16:00 - 16:20 CEST | Leicester/Salon 12 (Niveau/Level 1)

Abstract

We present a design method for asymmetric one-dimensional photonic crystal cavities suitable for electrical injection that simultaneously achieves a high Q-factor and high extraction efficiency. We additionally experimentally demonstrate an electrically-driven photonic-crystal laser based on this cavity architecture, confirming its potential for optical interconnects.
