Abstract

The development of linear mode HgCdTe avalanche photodiodes at Leonardo DRS will be described. A few select applications will also be discussed.

Dr. Pradip Mitra is Senior Director of Advanced Sensor Technology at Leonardo DRS Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems (EOIS), Dallas, TX, where he leads the development of new infrared detector and sensor technologies. These have included first of their kind single photon counting detectors and 3-D Imaging Focal Plane Arrays based on linear mode HgCdTe avalanche photodiodes. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Boston University and MSc from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has 26 patents in the IR technology area and is an author or co-author of over 90 publications. Pradip is the recipient of the 2023 MSS Active EO Rudy Buser Lifetime Achievement Award.
