Introducing Acktar Diffusive Mirror™
A High-Performance, PFAS-PTFE-Free Lambertian Reflector for Optical Applications Acktar is proud to launch its newest innovation — the Acktar Diffusive Mirror™, a high-reflectance optical foil designed to meet the most demanding requirements for diffuse, spectrally neutral reflection across the VIS, NIR, and IR spectral regions. Engineered for precision and durability, this foil delivering >90% total nearly ideal lambertian hemispherical reflectance from 0.4 to 17 µm, making it ideal for optical calibration, sensor testing, stray light control, and radiometric applications. In addition to its optical performance, the Acktar Diffusive Mirror™ is an environmentally friendly solution — PFAS- and PTFE-free, offering a safer alternative to traditional white reference materials. It is also low-outgassing, making it suitable for use in sensitive environments including vacuum and space applications. Built for Precision Optical Systems Acktar Diffusive Mirror™ foils offer >90% total hemispherical reflectance from 0.4 to 17 µm and near-perfect lambertian behaviour. They are ideal for use in: Calibration and Reflectance Standards * Serve as reliable reference targets for spectrometer, radiometer, and imaging system calibration. * Enable accurate and traceable measurements across a broad spectral range. Integrating Sphere Interiors * Provide uniform diffuse reflectance for light integration and distribution in photometric, radiometric, and spectral testing setups. Diffuse Reflection and Light Homogenization * Used in optical systems, light mixing setups, and calibration benches where controlled, uniform scattering of light is required — enabling beam homogenization and spatial light uniformity without absorption. Medical Optics and Biophotonics * Employed as phantom reflectors or white references in optical imaging and tissue simulation setups.
