Keynote Panel: Evolving Process Development in Optics and Photonics
4 August 2025 • 1:10 PM - 2:10 PM PDT | Conv. Ctr. Room 32B
As optical and photonic systems grow in complexity and performance demands, the processes used to develop them must evolve in parallel. This keynote panel will bring together leading voices from academia, industry, and software development to explore how process development in optics and photonics is being transformed by emerging technologies and methodologies. Panelists will discuss how advanced computational tools, multi-domain virtual prototyping, artificial intelligence, and design-for-manufacturing principles are shaping the future of the field. Topics will include the integration of Optical Design Automation (ODA) into end-to-end workflows, the challenges of scaling automation in diverse design environments, and the opportunities that arise when cross-disciplinary innovation meets next-generation simulation capabilities. This discussion aims to illuminate the path forward for more agile, intelligent, and collaborative development processes across the optics and photonics landscape.

Moderator:
Jonathan Heinz-Garcia, Airy Optics, Inc. (United States)
