Bo Huang is the professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at UC San Francisco and investigator at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub. He and his team are developing new fluorescent labeling methods and microscopy techniques to systematically map the subcellular localization, temporal dynamics, and activity profiles of proteins. In particular, they have developed a split protein tagging method that allows large-scale CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing to generate cell lines with endogenously labeled proteins. To enable high-throughput imaging of these cell lines, they developed a single-objective high-resolution light-sheet microscope (eSPIM).
