Dr. Nikolay Ledentsov

Nikolay Ledentsov, Jr. received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Technical University of Berlin, where his research focused on the growth and characterization of (In)AlGaN-based green and UV light emitters. In 2023, he completed his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Warsaw, with a focus on high-speed data transmission using infrared VCSELs.

As VP of Engineering at VI Systems GmbH, he was responsible for the research and development of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) for high-speed optical links, as well as for the manufacturing and characterization of light emitters and photodiodes. During his time at VI Systems, he led several collaborative projects that achieved groundbreaking data transmission records.

He is currently Head of Characterization and VCSEL Development at EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH.
