Prof. Yan Li

Dr. Yan LI Received bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1989, 1994, and 1997, respectively. He was a faculty in Department of Physics at Harbin Institute of Technology from 1989 to 2003; a postdoctoral researcher at Osaka University from 2000 to 2003; an associate professor in October 2003 and a full professor since 2005 in School of Physics at Peking University. Recipient of the National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker (2014), State Council Special Allowance for Experts (2020), and Fellow of the Chinese Optical Society (2022).
His research focuses on the femtosecond laser 3D micro/nano fabrication, wavefront modulation, and focal field shaping. He applies spatial light modulator and metasurface-based optical field control to the femtosecond laser 3D micro/nano fabrication. He has served as chief scientist for China National Major Scientific Research Programs, principal investigator for China National Key R&D Programs, Major/Key Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
He has served as Executive Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory for Artificial Microstructures and Mesoscopic Physics, China (2009-2025), Director of the Peking University Yangtze Delta Institute of Optoelectronics (2019–2025), Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Optical Society (2014–2022), and Deputy Supervisor of the Chinese Optical Society (2022–present).
