Profile Summary

Síle Nic Chormaic holds a BSc and MSc from the National University of Ireland Maynooth and a PhD from the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. She held postdoc and fellowship positions at the University of Innsbruck, The University of Melbourne, and MPQ Garching from 1994-2000. In 2000, she returned to Ireland for a faculty post at Cork Institute of Technology and later University College Cork. Since 2012, she has been at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST), Japan, where she leads the Light-Matter Interactions for Quantum Technologies Unit. She is a Fellow of SPIE, Optica, and the Institute of Physics (IoP).
