Dr. Jiyeon Choi

Jiyeon Choi received her Ph. D. in optics from the College of Optics, CREOL/FPCE in the University of Central Florida, USA in 2009 and the joint Ph. D in laser physics from the University of Bordeaux, France in 2010. She joined Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) in 2010. She has served as the head of the department of laser and electron beam technologies, KIMM from 2017 to 2024. Her research interests include ultrafast laser-matter interaction and laser-based device fabrication with glass and optical materials.

She is a senior member of SPIE, the optical society of Korea (OSK), and Korean society of laser processing (KSLP). She is also a member of Optica, and associate member of the national academy of engineering of Korea (NAEK). She has been contributing as a program committee of SPIE Photonics West. CLEO, and OSK since 2015.
