Profile Summary

Dr. Gregory Wirth is an astronomer and systems engineer on the Payload Systems Engineering team at BAE Systems (BAES) Space & Mission Systems in Boulder, Colorado. He holds a B.A. in Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Math from Northwestern University and earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Prior to joining BAES in 2018, Greg served as a Support Astronomer at the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii and as the Commissioning Scientist for the Boulder-based National Ecological Observatory Network. At BAES, he has been a member of the Wavefront Science team that commissioned the optical system on the James Webb Space Telescope, supported development of the onboard calibration system on the Wide Field Instrument for the Roman Space Telescope, and contributes to New Business opportunities in the company's Civil Space division.
